Adventure to Alberta
Some family sessions just feel like an adventure from the very beginning, and this was definitely one of them.
This sweet family travelled all the way from Winnipeg to Alberta to explore the mountains, and I was lucky enough to photograph a little piece of their adventure while they were here. With two teenagers, a hamster , and a whole lot of personality, this session was exactly the kind of family photography I love. Fun, relaxed, a little chaotic, and full of genuine connection.
Alberta had been throwing some serious rain our way, and we spent a good amount of time watching the forecast and crossing our fingers. But somehow, the weather gave us just enough of a break to make it happen and I’m so glad it did. We explored, laughed, moved around, and let the kids simply be themselves. Because when you’re travelling all the way from Winnipeg to experience the Alberta mountains, you want your photos to feel like a memory of the adventure not a perfectly posed photo shoot. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s capturing the personalities, the connection, the laughs, and all the little moments you’ll want to remember years from now. And yes… the hamster absolutely deserves an honourable mention and solo shots.
